Cars & Caffeine at Night: Where Cayman’s Car Culture Meets Community

As the sun dropped over George Town, something unmistakable took over the streets. Headlights gleamed, classic engines rumbled, music drifted through the air, and the smell of fresh coffee mixed with street food. That was the atmosphere Cars & Caffeine at Night became known for. It was not just a car show. It was a community evening that turned a shared love for cars into meaningful support for Cayman charities.

Hosted by Tony’s Toys Automotive Centre, Cars & Caffeine at Night grew into one of the island’s most anticipated annual gatherings. The event remained free to attend, open to all ages, and welcoming to everyone, whether visitors came to showcase a vehicle, take photos, or simply enjoy the energy of the evening.

More Than a Car Show

Cars & Caffeine stood apart because its purpose was clear. The event was built around giving back. All proceeds contributed by vehicle exhibitors were donated to selected local charities, and Tony’s Toys matched the total amount raised. That commitment transformed every registration into something larger than a display or a moment of recognition. It became direct support for the community.

For the 2025 edition, the charities supported were:

  • Inclusion Cayman
  • YMCA Cayman Islands
  • Cayman Islands Crisis Centre

The structure ensured that the impact of the night extended well beyond the event itself.

The Cars, The Crowd, The Categories

The event welcomed over 200 registered participants, along with many others who expressed interest in taking part in future editions. That turnout reflected how Cars & Caffeine at Night had evolved. It attracted dedicated enthusiasts, families, and those simply looking to enjoy a relaxed Cayman evening.

The vehicle lineup covered a wide range of styles and eras, including:

  • Classics dating as far back as the early 1900s
  • American, European, and Japanese vehicles from different generations
  • Newer market entrants, including a Jetour presence from the Chinese automotive space

This variety shaped the experience. One moment featured a carefully restored classic, and the next revealed a modern performance build, a luxury model, or a custom vehicle rarely seen on island. The mix encouraged conversation and curiosity throughout the night.

Food, Coffee, and the “Stay a Little Longer” Energy

The late-afternoon-to-night format played a defining role in the event’s character. As daylight faded, the setting shifted. Lights reflected off polished bodywork. Music filled the streets. Food vendors and coffee partners became natural gathering points.

This year’s lineup included Burger Shack, Murphy Kitchen, and My Coffee Cartel, among others. With food in hand and no strict schedule to follow, people lingered. They circled back. They noticed details they had missed earlier. Cars & Caffeine at Night was designed for that kind of unhurried enjoyment.

How It Started, and Why the Night Format Matters

Cars & Caffeine at Night began with a simple idea. Tony Williams, a lifelong car enthusiast, wanted a space to connect with automobiles and fellow enthusiasts. After attending car shows for years, he began hosting his own events through Tony’s Toys Automotive Centre in 2003. Over time, participation grew, interest expanded, and the sense of community deepened.

In 2023, the event evolved into its current identity as Cars & Caffeine at Night. The shift was more than a name change. The evening format became part of what made the experience distinct in Cayman. The lighting, cooler air, downtown setting, and festive pace combined to create a vibe that felt genuinely local.

The Heart of It All

Cars & Caffeine at Night became more than an automotive event because it blended passion with purpose. It celebrated cars while highlighting what Cayman could achieve when people came together for a shared cause. Whether as exhibitors, sponsors, or visitors enjoying a coffee in hand, everyone played a role in creating real impact.

The event closed with full streets, lasting conversations, and a strong sense that something meaningful had taken place, both for car culture and for the wider Cayman community.
